Katarzyna Szczerba

sound recordist & sound designer

Having made films with friends since early childhood led me onto studying acoustics (sound directing) at age 17 – this marked the beginning of my professional career. The films I’ve worked on have won awards at some of the most prestigious international festivals, with the Sundance Film Festival taking a particular liking to them – five of my films have been showcased there so far. I’m currently a PhD candidate at the Łódź Film School, where I’ve collaborated for several years and advocated for the establishment of a sound specialization, which is set to open next autumn. As a nature lover, I find my greatest solace in listening to the various kinds of silence.
